Purchase details: The Illustrated Guide to World Religions, Dean Halverson, General Editor. Hardcover, 288 pages, $19.99. Published by Bethany House. Please support HomeschoolChristian.com by buying this book from our Amazon affiliate link.

The Illustrated Guide to World Religions overviews the beliefs of eleven different faiths from a Christian perspective and offers specific suggestions as to how to evangelize followers of these faiths: Animism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Marxism, New Age, Secularism, Shinto, and Taoism.

The book begins by explaining the spectrum of religious beliefs ranging from monotheism to atheism. Then each of the non-Christian faiths is discussed with an emphasis on contrasting them with Christianity. Colorful photographs, charts, and maps add to understanding. The final two chapters of the book, "Is Jesus the Only Way to God?" and "How Can We Know the Bible is the Word of God?" answer many of the objections of other faiths.

Recommendation: The Illustrated Guide to World Religions is a beautiful book! Its photographs and layout make the difficult subject of understanding how the faiths of the world differ from Christianity much easier. It clearly contrasts the evangelical Protestant beliefs with each of the religions highlighted. If you are planning to do missionary work in non-Christian countries or with non-Christians in our own country, this book will be an invaluable addition to your library.
